You’re too easily moved by romantic comedies.

You tend to love hard—really hard.

It’s only been a week or two and you’re already bombarding each other with pet names and serious talk of the future. Or, maybe just you are. After all, you can’t help it that you throw yourself completely into your romances. Unfortunately, the lines between scary co-dependence and blind passion can be quite blurry. With these types of people, falling in love tends to happen rather quickly. You invest a lot of yourself very early on in the relationship, and are surprised later when you feel that your earnest efforts have not been reciprocated.

You’ve had frequent crash-and-burn relationships.

The aforementioned crash -and burn relationships are those that tend to start and end with great intensity. A crazy summer fling that burned a little longer than it should have. A fiery rebound with a co-worker that lands you on an episode of Judge Joe Brown. You leave these situations feeling drained, resentful, and unfulfilled. But since the best way to get over someone is with a new ‘someone’, you begin the cycle all over again by throwing yourself into another impulsive romance. Having too many of these in your romantic history is a definite red flag.
