Even unmarried, Kandi Burruss may be the most stable of the “wives” in the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” franchise. She’s usually not the one in the middle of the weave-pulling catfights the show has become known for; instead, as part of the chart-topping group Xscape, she’s one of the few who’s actually had a viable public career before the show.

Burruss is using her increased visibility on “RHOA” to start some new projects, and you’ll see more of those businesses being developed on the show this season. Read on to find out more about how sexy those businesses are, her new reality show, and how she really feels about those other girls in Xscape.

BLACKAMERICAWEB.COM: What can we look forward to with your storyline the rest of the season?

KANDI BURRUSS: The rest of the season will be really fun. You’ll see more of the development of my line Bedroom Kandi. It’s going to get interesting.

Bedroom Kandi is a sex toys line?

It’s self-pleasure products, personal massagers, intimate luxuries – it’s a whole bunch of ways to describe it. (Laughs.)

What influenced you to start the business?

I’ve been doing the show “Kandi Koated Life” for a year and a half, a sex and relationship talk show I do on the Internet. Last year, because of that show, I was invited to the Laura Berman radio show, and when I went to visit her, she had her own line of toys. It caught me off guard. I was like, ‘She got her own talk show, and I got my own talk show on sex and relationships.’

I found out one of the richest women in Europe is a billionaire for having her own toy line and home party network. I found out that 70 percent of women have never even had an orgasm. It’s partially because a lot of women don’t know their own bodies. My mom always said women want to feel the same at 60 as they do at 20 and 30, so we, as women, need to be able to explore our own bodies, know what we like and be able to tell our men what we like as well. It just went from there.

So, we’ll see the evolution of the line on “Real Housewives” this season? And that will be a big part of your storyline this year?

Bedroom Kandi will be a big part. And I always wanted to write country music, so you’ll see me collaborating with country artist Jo Dee Messina, and that was big for me because that was the first time I’ve ever had the chance to work with a country artist. And it turned out really, really good. That’s the music part of my life.

Will we get to see you doing more singing? I know you have another Bravo show, your own show, where you turn people into stars.

Yes, it’s called “The Kandi Factory.” I’m super excited about that. I actually start taping tomorrow. After I did the song with Kim on the first season, I’d have people walking up to me going, ‘Oh, could you please help me? If you could do it for Kim, you could do it for me.’ I pitched it to Bravo last year.

I’m going to have people go into the studio with me and help them get the right image and all these different things. It’s going to be me and some of my friends who are professionals in the business – from producers, stylists, makeup, hair, choreographer, CEO, writers and videographers, and we’re going to put their whole show together.
